Packing List
The following are items all attendees must bring, as they are
not provided by the center. Please mark all personal belongings with
your name, especially items you may leave in common
areas such as the Buddha Hall or Sangha House:
- Meditation cushion
- Folding chair/stool/bench (if needed for meditation or meals; few
chairs are available on site)
- Personal water bottle
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Sunhat, sunglasses, sunscreen
- Shawl/blanket (cool in the evenings)
- Poison oak protection
- Personal toiletries: Please bring unscented and biodegradable products,
including insect repellant, poison oak block, wipes, tissues and soaps.
- Comfortable walking shoes and/or sandals that can easily be taken
on and off (shoes are not permitted in the Buddha Hall or Shrine Room).
Remember that you will be walking to the teachings, campground and
meals on trails that can be dusty and uneven.
- Choose clothing you can layer depending on variable temperatures:
t-shirts, vests, sweaters, long pants to protect legs, socks ...
- Gardening tools/gloves/apron if you wish to help in the Dharmachakra
Garden
- Rangjung Yeshe Chantbook (if available)
Optional Though Recommended
- Raincoat or small folding umbrella (just in case!)
- Ground mat for possible outdoor meditation sessions
- Swimsuit, towel, river shoes or sandals
- Katak (prayer scarf) for final day's offering
- Daypack for
hikes or river use
Suggested Items for Campers
- Tent, tarp and ground cover, rain fly
- Towel
- Sleeping bag with pad or air mattress
- Bear
box (if you need to keep food)
- Biodegradable laundry soap, bucket, clothesline
- Slip-on
